Orientation to Regulation is open to any federal public servant interested in working in the regulatory field. It will cover topics including Canada’s legal and policy requirements for regulating, the basis of excellent regulatory programs/systems, as well as regulatory delivery and implementation in Canada. The format includes theory, lecture, discussion and an examination of practical exercises and case studies. Various aspects of the regulatory lifecycle will be explored as well as regulatory challenges and success stories.

Update: Orientation to Regulation
As of April 2023, regionally focused sessions of Orientation to Regulation will be discontinued. A recent assessment demonstrated that participants’ experiences are what brings the regional lens, making the need for regional specific sessions redundant. As such, regional employees are invited to register for this course in the language and time zone of their choice, rather than by region. Should you have any questions regarding this change, please contact cfr-crf@hc-sc.gc.ca.
