French as a Second Language

Join Algonquin College’s French as a Second Language (FSL) program to develop the language skills you need to communicate effectively in every day and professional situations.

Our FSL program is designed to help you reach your language goals, whether you are new to the language or need to improve your proficiency. Led by experienced and engaging instructors, our learning program and activities focus on practical real-life situations to help you gain fluency in personal and professional environments. You will also take regular quizzes and assessments to monitor your progress and abilities.

How To Register

For individuals, our courses are delivered online, pay-as-you-go, with most courses running in six-week cycles with two classes per week, from beginner to advanced levels (CEFR A1, A2, B1 and B2 corresponding to Government of Canada levels X, A, B and C). See course information in the table below and our FSL course calendar to register.

Dedicated Group Training

We also offer dedicated group training for the preparation of the Public Service Commission Oral B or Oral C Second Language Evaluation.
